Rosa Parks by Christina

Rosa Parks was an African American pioneer and lived from 1913-2005. One day, when Rosa Parks was on the bus she was not sitting in the back of the bus. Back then, African American people were not treated equally and were expected to sit in the back of the bus. A man came up to her and asked if she would get up and give up her seat. She refused because she heard of Martin Luther King Jr. and he was also protesting and doing speeches and a big walk. The man kept on asking. She would not get up so then the bus driver came over and called the police. Rosa Parks went to jail because of this.

Later, E.D Nixon and the Durrs bailed Rosa Parks out of jail. Because of what Rosa Parks had done barely anyone was riding the bus. Rosa Parks then made a boycott. The boycott was called the Montgomery Bus Boycott. The boycott lasted for 381 days. Lots of people were driving by taxi or walking because of what happened. Some people walked 20 miles to get somewhere. The buses were empty. Later Rosa Parks became a pioneer. A pioneer is someone who begins or helps develop something new and prepares the way for others to follow. Thank you for reading this.
