Quick and Easy Way to Check Out eBooks and Audiobooks by Carol (parent)

With local libraries currently closed for social distancing, many of us may be looking for new reading material. A good option is to check out an eBook or an audiobook from your public library.

There’s an app called Libby that makes it very easy for both kids and grownups to check out eBooks and audiobooks for phones, tablets, Kindles, or computers. Click here to learn more about Libby, or go ahead and download the app from your app store.

To check out eBooks or audiobooks using Libby, you’ll need a library card. If you live in Fairfax County, Virginia, or a nearby area, and you don’t already have a library card, click here to apply for a free library card online. You can check out eBooks for 180 days before needing to visit a library branch in person to complete the application process. Parents can get their kids separate library cards so they can have their own set of eBooks on their devices.

Happy reading and listening!
