Turtle in Paradise was a big hit at my school before it shut down. My librarian gave it to me as a recommendation and said that many kids checked it out and loved it. The book is about a girl named Turtle who is sent to live with an aunt, uncle, and cousins in Key West. When she arrives it’s non-stop heat, boys, and pirate treasure. Just as Turtle adjusts to the new environment, something comes and hits her hard. You should totally read this book because it’s awesome and it is full of female empowerment and strong characters.
